Egkies (pregnant, plural) is an ongoing project, and started as an idea to pass time between friends: to inhabit an area of Athens we hadn’t experienced as a trio before, while also inhabiting a state of being we had never inhabited before—being ‘pregnant’. We stuffed clothes under our jumpers to give the effect that we were pregnant, and drove to the bourgeoisie suburbs of Athens. We walked around, took some pictures, people minded their business. In the evening we found somewhere to eat pasta nearby, where a waiter asked us how many months pregnant we were. Three months we told him. He didn’t offer us the drinks menu.



A few months later we set out again. This time we went to the port in Pireaus, secluding ourselves from main streets and crowds. We walked through open land and flew a drone that surveilled us.
